On January 11, 2024, the criminal case of tax evasion by the son of the US President, Hunter Biden, was heard.

On that day, Biden Jr. pleaded not guilty to tax crimes and misdemeanors during his work in key positions at the Chinese investment management company BHR Partners and the Ukrainian gas producer Burisma, and the court scheduled the next court hearing for June 20.

In the first half of June 2024, both Republicans and Democrats will finish holding their primaries and prepare for their parties' national conventions. The ongoing internal party processes within the Republican Party have allowed Donald Trump to virtually monopolize the Republican electoral field.
