The final summit between Prime Minister Kishida and President Yoon in Seoul cemented the Biden Administration's geopolitical contribution to Indo-Pacific security

Solid Info
On September 6, 2024, the final Japan-South Korea Leadership Summit for Prime Minister Fumio Kishida took place in Seoul.
Following the meeting, which was the 12th between Prime Minister Kishida and President Yoon Suk Yeol, Tokyo and Seoul agreed to further expand comprehensive bilateral cooperation and to work to strengthen the JAROKUS coalition.
The new agreements include the conclusion of the first agreement in Japan's history on the joint evacuation of citizens from war zones (Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan).
This will, in particular, contribute to the further institutionalization of security relations between South Korea and Japan, opening the way for more complex joint humanitarian and military operations that have been previously inaccessible to Seoul and Tokyo.
