Solid Info

On August 24, 2025, it became known that the American company Boeing is negotiating the sale of up to 500 737-series aircraft to China. This would be the first major deal between China and Boeing in recent years, as Boeing has received only 30 orders from China since 2019.

China's order—which has mostly focused on its own aircraft manufacturing and European Airbus planes—will become a lifeline for Boeing, without which the corporation risks transitioning into the category of problematic assets requiring strict government intervention to prevent a systemic collapse of the industry, as happened with Intel.

China, understanding the uniqueness of this moment, can use the commercial contract as a platform for broader political maneuvering, where economic support for the American manufacturer transforms into an additional lever of negotiating pressure on Washington.
