On November 4, 2025, the Democratic Party achieved victory in several elections that became the first large-scale midterm voting since the start of Donald Trump's new presidential term. In New Jersey and Virginia, Democratic candidates Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger were elected as governors.

In California, voters supported the amendment to the state constitution proposed by Governor Gavin Newsom on the redistricting of electoral districts, which will give the Democratic Party the potential to increase its representation in the lower house of the US Congress by five seats.

On the same day, elections for mayor of New York City took place, in which progressive politician and member of the Democratic Socialists of America, Zohran Mamdani, won with 50.4% of the votes.
