On August 8, 2025, US Vice President JD Vance began his visit to the United Kingdom, during which he held meetings with the country's Foreign Secretary David Lammy, conservative lawmakers Robert Jenrick and Chris Philp, as well as Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.

In addition, the Vice President visited American military personnel serving at the Royal Air Force base in Fairford and participated in a dialogue with European, Ukrainian, and British officials the day after Donald Trump's announcement of a meeting with the President of Russia in Alaska.
