Solid Info

On January 15, Iowa held a Republican Party caucus to elect the first 40 out of 2,429 delegates to the Republican National Convention. Donald Trump won the caucuses with 51% of the vote, and his margin of victory over the next closest candidate is about 30%.

Ron DeSantis took second place, and despite the results of recent polls in the state, he was not displaced by Nikki Haley for the third position. On Election Day, polls, on average, predicted DeSantis' lead over Haley by almost 3%. In comparison, the Florida governor was 2% ahead of his rival, with 21% to Haley's 19%, according to the results of the party caucuses.

The Iowa caucuses and Trump's landslide victory proved that Trump would receive the Republican nomination for the presidential election. From now on, the attention of the media and experts will be focused on the confrontation between the two future nominees, Biden and Trump.
