The murder of Charlie Kirk as a factor in U.S. societal polarization and a driver in the formation of a common right-wing conservative agenda in the West

On September 10, 2025, during his speech to an audience on the campus of Utah Valley University, American conservative political activist, one of the most popular bloggers among supporters of the MAGA movement, and co-founder of the nonprofit organization Turning Point USA, which promotes conservative views among American students, Charlie Kirk was shot.

A 22-year-old Tyler Robinson has been detained on suspicion of committing the murder; the investigation is ongoing, and official charges are being prepared. The suspect himself is not cooperating with the investigation, while his family and close associates are providing testimony.

Robinson comes from a Republican family but held opposing political views and sharply negatively assessed Kirk's activities. Investigators are examining his digital activity, including messages on the Discord platform; among the physical evidence is a rifle left near the crime scene.

According to law enforcement, the suspect's identification is confirmed by digital traces and material evidence, including DNA prints.
