Failed coup in Bolivia: Chinese influence in Latin America increases

On June 26, an attempted coup d'état led by General Juan José Zuniga took place in Bolivia. The coup was quickly suppressed, and Zuniga was arrested the same evening.

President Luis Arce condemned the attempted coup, calling it an attack on the government, and appealed for international support to maintain stability. Calm in the country was restored after the reshuffle of the leadership in the Armed Forces of Bolivia.
