On February 19, 2024, it became known that Qatar will soon announce the conclusion of additional contracts for the sale of gas produced under the North Field LNG project, which is awaiting expansion. This statement was made by Saad al-Kaabi, Qatar's Minister of Energy and North Field LNG Project Manager, at a press conference in Ras Laffan.

On February 27, 2024, the head of Woodside Energy, Australia's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas, announced that the company is actively promoting the $12 billion Scarborough LNG project in Australia and has other development options.

They include Browse LNG in Western Australia and Sunrise LNG in Northern Australia and continue to consider possible investments through M&A transactions.
