On May 29, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met with the President of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol. During the meeting, the two leaders signed a comprehensive economic partnership agreement.

Korea became the first Asian country in which the UAE entered this agreement. The arrangement is called a free trade agreement because it eliminates tariffs on imports of more than 90% of the products traded between the countries.

The agreement is also a continuation of the investment commitments of both countries, under which Korea pledged to invest $30 billion in the UAE and the UAE, as well as $6 billion in Korea.
