President Biden makes landmark pact with Japan as Dulles 70-year-old defense system is replaced by Campbell's security architecture

Solid Info
From April 10 to 14, 2024, Japanese Prime Minister Kishida paid a state visit to the United States. Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell and U.S. Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel said it was "epoch-making significance."
In particular, this visit caused the United States to abandon the "hub-and-spoke" security system in favor of a "lattice" (collective security) system.
Prime Minister Kishida characterized the latter as a "multiplier": a model whereby the United States and Japan, by expanding agreements with other Indo-Pacific states, will build up defense capabilities in a progressive manner.
