Personnel Transformations at the Pentagon: Internal Competition in the Trump Administration and Its Consequences for the Iranian Campaign

On April 2, 2026, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth initiated the dismissal of Army Chief of Staff General Randy George and announced the removal of the head of Army Futures and Training Command, General David Hodne, as well as the Army Chief of Chaplains, Major General William Green Jr.
