Solid Info

On April 23, 2025, it became known that representatives of the China State Railway Group and the Chinese Ministry of Transport discussed the construction of the Transcontinental Railway, which will connect the eastern part of Brazil with the megaport of Chancay in Peru, during a visit to Brazil.

This will be a key project under China's One Belt, One Road initiative and will be financed by COSCO Shipping.

The railroad will allow using this route as another point of support for expanding China's geopolitical influence in the region, as its geographical location will connect Brazil with the western Pacific coast.
