United States is developing a new global investment security system to curb China’s military and economic advancement

On October 25, 2024, the second meeting of the JAROKUS Coalition National Security Advisors took place in Washington, DC. Representatives of the United States, Japan, and South Korea reaffirmed their unity of position on the collective autocratic threat to the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific, including assessments of the risks of the DPRK joining the Russian war in Ukraine.

They also agreed to redouble their efforts to further institutionalize the coalition, a key element of which will be the opening of the JAROKUS Secretariat by the end of the year.

Beyond the immediate geopolitical context, the talks in Washington were marked by agreements between National Security Advisor Sullivan, Director of the South Korean National Security Office Shin Won-sik, and Secretary General of the Japanese Cabinet Office of National Security Takeo Akiba to collectively continue strategic reforms after the US presidential and Japanese parliamentary elections.
