Transformation of the Quad: Labor Party’s victory in Australian elections strengthens U.S. position in the Indo-Pacific

On May 3, 2025, the Australian Labor Party won the federal election, despite predictions in favor of the opposition.

As a result, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese retained his post, providing the Labor Party with a “supermajority” in parliament, and the leader of the conservative Liberal Party, Peter Dutton, lost his parliamentary mandate.
