The United States prepares a response to Beijing’s alliance with Russia and North Korea: decisions expected at NATO Summit

From June 18 to 19, 2024, a Russian delegation led by Putin held the largest “security” talks with the North Korean government in two decades.

As a result, the Russian Federation and the DPRK signed an open-ended agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership that replaced the architecture of Russian-North Korean military cooperation established during the Soviet era.

Moscow and Pyongyang renewed the agreement on collective defense, which was canceled in 2000. They also agreed to expand military-industrial cooperation and laid the groundwork for military exchanges, including the sending of a North Korean contingent to Russia and the deployment of Russian troops in the DPRK.
