The United States and its allies launched an operation in Yemen. The effectiveness of countering the strategies of the authoritarian axis leads China to take a more aggressive approach to meet its economic needs

On January 2, the United States and the United Kingdom, with the support of several allies, launched a large-scale military operation in Yemen, targeting 60 key facilities, including military and air force bases and airports.

This operation was a strategic response to the escalation of Houthi rebel attacks on shipping in the Red Sea. The US goal was to contain the expansion of the conflict and reduce Iran’s ability to escalate the conflict in the region with the help of its proxies from the so-called “Axis of Resistance”.

The autocratic axis is actively implementing a strategy to turn its proxies into internationally recognized actors. A striking example is Iran’s actions to subjectify the Houthi movement in Yemen. After years of conflict, Saudi Arabia recognized the Houthis as a legitimate party to the negotiations in 2023.
