South Korea ‘reformats’ national security infrastructure ahead of U.S. and Japan election outcomes

The United States and South Korea will conduct the annual Ulchi Freedom Shield military exercise from August 19 to 29, 2024.

This year’s program will, for the first time, include rehearsals for a nuclear attack by the DPRK due to the unprecedented increase in regional tensions caused by China and Russia’s increased support for Pyongyang.

In addition, Ulchi Freedom Shield 2024 will focus on new “realistic threats” such as using various types of missiles, GPS blocking, large-scale cyber-attacks, and air, sea, and land invasion scenarios.
