The 24th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Leadership Summit was held in Astana on July 3-4, 2024. Formally chaired by Kazakh President Tokayev, the summit served as a pretext to strengthen Xi Jinping’s expansionary campaign: first, to form a “resource union” capable of supporting China’s future military aggression.
Beijing’s main geopolitical achievement, in particular, was the territorial expansion of the SCO to the European continent by including Belarus in the organization.
As a result of the summit, the latter and Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan pledged to further develop China’s One Belt, One Road initiative as a driving force for regional development.
