On January 10, 2024, the Republican Party held its election debate in Iowa, the last one before the Republican primaries. On the same day, Chris Christie, former governor of New Jersey and one of the Republican candidates in this year’s election campaign, stopped running for the US presidential nomination.
Like Tim Scott, who once dropped out of the presidential race, Christie has not endorsed any Republican presidential candidates still in the race.
Of all the Republican politicians remaining in the race, Christie’s electorate is the closest to Nikki Haley’s, and the latter has already begun to take over the votes of these voters.
