On March 18, 2025, it became known that Alphabet, the parent company of Google, had resumed negotiations to buy the Israeli cybersecurity company Wiz.
The offer is worth $33 billion, $9 billion higher than the previous offer in 2024, and could be the basis for Alphabet’s largest M&A deal in its history.
The agreement between Wiz and relevant U.S. private entities on cybersecurity is strategically important in the face of the growing threat from Chinese state-sponsored hacking groups such as Volt Typhoon.
