Elections in Austria: European Allies of the U.S. apply a new model of countering anti-democratic forces in the EU

On October 2, 2024, Austrian Chancellor Nehammer and his coalition partners from the Green Party decided to resign.

The far-right Freedom Party (FPÖ) won first place in the election, securing approximately 28.9% of the vote, while the ruling Austrian People’s Party (ÖVP) received about 26.3%.

The victory of the FPÖ creates preconditions for expanding the so-called “Austro-Hungarian” dynamics in the European Union in Central Europe, which will create an alternative center of influence that will challenge the European elites based in Brussels.
