Democrats’ focus on abortion proves effective in Congressional special elections

On June 24, Vice President Kamala Harris will attend two campaign events in Maryland and Arizona to mark the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson, which overturned Roe v. Wade.

Harris’s trip is part of a much broader strategy the Democratic Party is testing at the local level during the special elections. This strategy will be applied in the upcoming congressional elections.

The strategy is to tie the overturning of Roe to any restrictions on abortion that are adopted in each state and blame Trump and Republicans in Congress.
