The U.S. Democratic Party primaries for the nomination of a representative from the 16th congressional district of New York were held on June 25, 2024.
The incumbent progressive congressman, Jamal Bowman, and the head of the Winchester County Executive, moderate Democrat George Latimer, compete for the seat.
According to the primary results, Bowman became the first member of The Squad, a progressive faction in the House of Representatives, to lose the qualifying round on the eve of this year’s elections to the lower house of Congress.
