A failed meeting at the White House as a trigger for the formation of an updated European dynamic

On February 28, 2025, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the United States to meet with President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance at the White House.

According to official reports, the parties planned to discuss further support for Ukraine and the conclusion of a framework agreement on minerals that would provide real security guarantees for Kyiv.

However, the meeting ended early: during a joint press conference in the Oval Office, Zelenskyy and representatives of the US administration had a heated argument over Ukraine’s readiness to negotiate a truce with Russia on President Putin’s terms.
