Washington-Riyadh nuclear technology deal creates new threats amid Iran’s regional dynamics

On April 13, 2025, US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright said in Riyadh that the Trump administration had resumed talks with Saudi Arabia on an agreement to share US nuclear technology and potentially allow uranium enrichment.

Answering journalists’ questions about whether the authorization included a requirement to establish diplomatic relations with Israel, Wright said that in geopolitical negotiations, “relations” are always the basis.
