A new framework for coexistence of autocracies and democracies: U.S.-China talks outline the framework of intersystem stability

The events of the first months of 2025 ended the period of systemic reformatting of the world order. The shift in the global balance of power that persisted during the first half of the 2020s has reached its intermediate result: the axis of autocracies has secured the status of an equal competitor to the democratic bloc.

China, having fully institutionalized authoritarian countries and part of the Global South around itself, has created an opportunity to compete with the United States through the existence of an alternative model of global governance, assigning each participant in its system a specific role.
