On April 2, 2026, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth initiated the dismissal of Army Chief of Staff General Randy George and announced the removal of the head of Army Futures and Training Command, General David Hodne, as well as the Army Chief of Chaplains, Major General William Green Jr.
These three consecutive dismissals, carried out amid Operation “Epic Fury” against the ayatollah regime, extended a broader wave of personnel rotations within the senior leadership of the U.S. Armed Forces. Since Hegseth assumed office, more than ten senior officers have left the Pentagon through dismissals or forced resignations.
