No changes in policy are expected after the United States supports the results of the general election in Taiwan

The presidential and parliamentary elections held in Taiwan on January 13 opened the global election season in 2024.

Predicting that the disappointing results of the Taiwanese election could lead to an escalation of tensions in the Pacific region, President Joe Biden’s administration has made great efforts to ensure that the Democratic Progressive Party’s victory does not change the status quo in the Taiwan Strait.
