China counts on undermining the US security architecture in the Indo-Pacific region due to the change of power in Indonesia and Malaysia

The further integration of Southeast Asian countries into the US security system will directly depend on the outcome of the election season in Indonesia and Malaysia, the leading economies of the Malay archipelago.

This region, also known as the delusional Southeast Asia, is strategically important to support the Pentagon’s Indo-Pacific doctrine. First, it connects the Indian and Pacific Oceans, particularly through critical trade arteries like the Strait of Malacca.

Secondly, it is the southern spine of the first and second security island chains of the United States (from Borneo to Western New Guinea). Thirdly, it contains deposits of critical minerals necessary for implementing the supply chain diversification campaign and further high-tech development of the alliance of democracies (monazite, xenotime, bauxite, etc.).
