On March 19, Iowa lawmakers passed a bill that would make it a crime to enter the state after being deported or denied entry to the United States. The bill will now be sent to Governor Kim Reynolds, who has already expressed willingness to sign it.
After the Texas Legislature passed a law in their state allowing the arrest of migrants suspected of crossing the border illegally, Republicans set a precedent to show the ability of “red” states to limit the flow of migrants to large cities in Texas, Iowa, and Florida.
