US rallies India and Pacific powers to militarily deter China as the greatest threat since 1945

On March 18, 2024, Admiral John Aquilino, the head of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), published his final report to Congress as regional commander. Admiral Samuel Paparo will soon replace him.

Admiral Aquilino’s final words were a warning: The United States faces the greatest threat since World War II from China, which is joining forces with Russia, Iran, and the DPRK for military expansion.

He emphasized that despite the significant deterioration of the Chinese economy, all indicators recorded by USINDOPACOM indicate that the PLA is rapidly modernizing to prepare for an invasion of Taiwan in 2027 and a possible clash with democratic associates.
