On March 20, 2024, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized emission standards for several pollutants for light and medium-duty vehicles manufactured in 2027 and later models.
These standards, which will be gradually implemented over 2027 to 2032, set new, more stringent emission requirements for cars and trucks with a gross vehicle weight of up to 11.8 tons.
