Development of geothermal energy in the United States and democratic countries of Asia as a tool to curb China’s monopoly in the “green agenda”

On March 21, 2024, the U.S. Department of Energy announced allocating up to $475 million to finance five green energy projects.

This financing was based on projects to convert former mine lands for green projects, including converting a copper mine in Southeast Arizona into a source of clean geothermal heat.

This is part of the U.S. government’s efforts to expand geothermal energy production capacity to 90 GW, twenty-five times the current capacity of 3.6 GW.
