On April 4, 2024, the United States imposed revised restrictions on the supply of the most advanced artificial intelligence chips developed by Nvidia and other American technology companies to China.
China’s technological lag, which will increase due to these and further restrictions on the information technology sector, will contribute to the gradual loss of China’s competitiveness in the development of AI.
This process, however, will be characterized by its longevity. U.S. sanctions will demonstrate their effectiveness in the medium and long term, and China will, therefore, harm the United States’ information security.
