European Union joins US “lattice” system in Indo-Pacific due to rising threat from China-Russia-North Korea coalition

On June 23, 2024, representatives of the European Commission expressed their readiness to expand defense and security ties with Japan and South Korea in an unprecedented manner.

The reason for this was called the growing common military threat to the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific, which is growing due to the actions of the Chinese-led alliance of autocracies.

The EU, in particular, intends to conclude the first-ever intergovernmental security agreement with a non-European state, Japan, by the end of 2024.
