Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Russia for the first time since 2019 on July 8-9, 2024.
As a result, India and Russia agreed to increase their trade turnover to $100 billion by 2030 (currently, it is $65 billion), primarily in rupees and rubles, and signed declarations of intent to develop economic and technological relations.
Among the strategic commitments made by the Russian Federation during the negotiations was a promise to increase the production of military equipment (spare parts, components, assemblies) in India, with New Delhi’s right to transfer these technologies to third countries at its discretion.
