From September 12 to 14, 2024, the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum was held in China, considered by the Communist Party of China as an autocratic alternative to the Singapore Shangri-La Security Forum.

As a result of the forum, Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun presented an updated security vision of China, which provides for “the right of every state to defend its legitimate rights,” which actually justifies future invasions under the pretext of protecting national interests.

According to him, this “right” should be realized through the creation of a “new type of security partnership” – a system under the control of the PRC, which will function through the formation of a military autocratic bloc based on the SCO, BRICS, CSTO, and the Chinese Global Security Initiative (GSI). This format was called the “Euro-Asian OSCE”.
