On September 27, 2024, IDF fighter jets struck Hezbollah’s central headquarters, which was located underground in a residential building in the Dahiya district of Beirut.
As a result, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed. The operation to eliminate the leader was called “New Order” and was part of a broader operation that has eliminated almost the entire Hezbollah leadership over the past two months.
The destruction of Hezbollah’s leadership, following similar actions against Hamas, has significantly reduced Iran’s strategic leverage in the Middle East.
