On December 27, 2024, Donald Trump, through his team of lawyers, filed a petition with the US Supreme Court in which the President-elect urged the judges to delay the ban on TikTok.
According to a law signed by Joe Biden in April 2024, the popular video hosting service developed by the Chinese tech company ByteDance will be blocked on January 19, 2025, the day before Donald Trump’s inauguration as president.
In the case of blocking TikTok, which will be heard by the Supreme Court on January 10, 2025, Trump is not formally a party to the case.
