Blinken’s final visit to Seoul: preparing for Trump’s South Korean campaign

On January 6, 2025, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken made his last visit to Seoul during his term. As a result, the United States reaffirmed its commitment to the “iron alliance” with South Korea, regardless of the circumstances and consequences of the country’s domestic political crisis.

Secretary Blinken said that Russia plans to transfer military space and satellite technologies to the DPRK in addition to the existing support in the classical military sphere. In the end, Anthony Blinken called the DPRK and China the “driving forces” behind Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Secretary Blinken’s visit to Seoul was accompanied by the first North Korean intermediate-range ballistic missile test in 2025.
